Religious Studies

“They show respect for each other and have a very well developed cultural understanding of both their own cultures and those of the variety of ethnic groups within the School.”  ISI Inspection 2014

Religious Studies is part of our school curriculum for every year group. Although a Christian school, we welcome all faiths into our community. Our children are taught to be tolerant, and to value and respect the beliefs and practises of others.

We study primarily Christianity, but consider and reflect upon the belief systems of the other principal world religions. We aim to provide a broad, vibrant and challenging Religious Studies curriculum whereby pupils are encouraged to learn from different beliefs and to reflect on some of the fundamental questions of life, such as those concerning faith and ethics.

We celebrate the main Christian festivals through services at the local church, with which we have strong links. We welcome speakers from a variety of religious backgrounds to speak in lessons and in school assemblies.
